A good chocolate gift hamper has four to six items: one premium centrepiece, something to share, something fun, something to drink and an option for any dietary needs, packed in a sturdy box with a card. You can build your own for around $45, or choose a ready-made Chocilo hamper from $39.95.

Your chocolate hamper checklist
- A premium centrepiece. Start with a box of assorted chocolates, such as our 24 Pack Chocolate Assortment Gift Box ($41.95) or the smaller 12 Pack ($22.95).
- Something to share. A chocolate block or two, such as our Rocky Road Milk Chocolate Block ($9.95).
- Something fun or personal. A message block that says "Thank You" or "Happy Birthday" from our chocolate blocks ($3.95), or a gift cube like Speckles in Milk Chocolate ($6.95).
- Something to drink. A drinking chocolate such as Grounded Pleasures Original Drinking Chocolate ($15.95).
- An option for dietary needs. If you're not sure what they can eat, add something from our vegan friendly range and check the allergens listed on each product page.
- Packaging and a card. A sturdy box or basket, some filler so nothing moves, a ribbon, and a handwritten card.
How many items should a chocolate hamper have?
Four to six items is a good guide. That's enough variety to feel generous without the hamper looking half empty. Our "Chocolate Makes Everything Better" Hamper, for example, holds four: a 24 pack assortment, a Rocky Road block, a Fruit & Nut block and a Chocolatier Australia Delights gift box.
How much does a chocolate hamper cost?
Our ready-made chocolate hampers range from $39.95 to $77.95. If you'd rather build your own, here are two examples using the checklist above:
- About $45: a 12 Pack Chocolate Assortment ($22.95), a Rocky Road Milk Chocolate Block ($9.95), a Speckles gift cube ($6.95) and a message block ($3.95). Total $43.80.
- About $100: a 24 Pack Chocolate Assortment ($41.95), Grounded Pleasures Original Drinking Chocolate ($15.95), Couverture Milk Chocolate Buttons ($16.95), Rocky Road blocks in milk and dark chocolate ($9.95 each) and a message block ($3.95). Total $98.70.

Christmas chocolate hampers
For Christmas, our Christmas chocolate hampers are filled with festive chocolates and range from $39.95 to $169.95. Order early: deliveries to the NT, Queensland and WA are paused from December to February because of the heat, and some larger hampers are Melbourne Metro delivery only. Looking for smaller Christmas gifts? See our teacher Christmas gift ideas or Secret Santa gifts under $15.
How do I stop chocolate melting in a hamper?
Chocolate keeps best somewhere cool and dry, ideally between 14 and 18 degrees, so store a homemade hamper inside and away from the sun, and give it soon after you pack it. When we deliver in warm weather, we pack orders with ice packs, and in extreme heat we may delay delivery and let you know by email. See our FAQs and delivery page for details.
