At Chocilo Melbourne, we are passionate about creating simply delicious chocolates made to the highest quality, in Melbourne, Australia. We are committed to providing luxury chocolates to suit all occasions – at affordable prices and without compromising on quality.

Our beginnings...

In 1985, David Grisold opened a small chocolate store in Diamond Creek with a vision to manufacture premium chocolates using the world’s finest ingredients, backed by outstanding customer service.

David was soon joined by Sister Joanne and Brother John. Two years later, the business moved to a larger premises and shop front in Waterdale Road, North Ivanhoe. It was time to change the name, and ‘Chocolatier Australia’ was born. In 1991, Brother Mark swelled the family ranks to oversee production.

As years passed, the business went from strength to strength. Joanne’s husband Bruce joined the family business to help out. The factory expanded a couple of times at the Waterdale Road address, before moving to its current location in Bamfield Road, West Heidelberg in the early 2000’s.

It became clear that there were two different arms to the business: the wholesale production side out of the Heidelberg West factory, and the bespoke, customisable retail side with the Waterdale Road shop. Joanne and her husband Bruce, purchased the Chocolatier Australia Shop in 2006 and have since introduced a cafe.

Fast forward another decade and the Chocolatier Australia Shop is growing, providing retail customers and major corporate clients with chocolates to suit their various needs.

And so, in 2017 to help differentiate between the Chocolatier Australia Shop and the Chocolatier Australia factory, the Chocolatier family thought the Waterdale Road shop needed a name of its own. The shop will still serve the much-loved, Chocolatier Australia chocolates, along with its own bespoke designs, handcrafted in store.

With that, Joanne, Bruce and family are excited to introduce you to the new Chocolatier Australia Shop, Chocilo Melbourne.
